Project Name: 4140 Forest Park Renovation (old Goodwill) with Tarlton Corporation and Project Manager, Andy Picha.

Planning:

When the design/ owner team for the 4140 Forest Park renovation began planning the project, they knew exactly who they wanted.

They had seen the craftsmanship firsthand at Powell Hall—and they told Tarlton’s project manager, “We want the same plaster company that worked on Powell Hall.”

The project presented a unique set of challenges:

Process:

The new stair tower was designed to showcase exposed steel, but the structure also needed to meet fire-rating requirements. The solution was to box the steel with drywall while keeping the framework as tight and visually prominent as possible.

The designer also wanted a beautiful lobby with a marble finish wall.
Our use of ArmourCoat Polished Plaster—a blend of marble dust and plaster that creates a durable, high-gloss surface and brings a distinctive finish to the space – provided this look.

Finally, behind the finished product were months of collaboration, design discussions, and problem-solving to balance the architectural vision, performance, and budget.

The result is a stunning space and a satisfied client.

🎬 In this video, you’ll see an all-new hospital that ties into an existing parking garage and hospital. Our people are installing EIFS – a synthetic plaster exterior cladding system. Most of this EIFS system is installed on prefab panels in a shop. Shawn is finishing the last few areas that could not be completed in prefab. You also see a quick shot of k13 insulation and fireproofing on the underside of the garage connecting the new building to the 6-year-old building.

Unique walls are our specialty. Exterior EIFS, K-13 insulation over fireproofing, plastering, and even the special ArmourCoat Polished Plaster on a lobby wall in a complete renovation.
